A CHARITY football match will take place at the home of Redditch United – Trico Stadium on Bromsgrove Road – this Sunday (July 5) to celebrate the life of 19-year-old Ollie Sellers, who was killed in a car crash last year.

The teenager was driving back from work on the A4023 Coventry Highway in Redditch, when a car coming from the other direction crossed the central grass embankment and hit Ollie’s car.

Adam Blake, Ollie’s cousin, said: “We organised the event as a family and the response so far has been great.

“All together we have 50 friends, family members and strangers lined up to play various matches but don’t worry if football is not your thing because there will be something for everyone.”

Other fun activities include tombola, children attractions and bars and stalls for the family to enjoy.

All proceeds will go towards the ‘Brake’ charity which works to stop road tragedies and supports people left bereaved and injured.

Gates open at 12noon and Ollie Seller’s memorial game will kick off at 1pm.

Entrance costs £1 and all donations are welcome.
