VARIOUS residents in Callow Hill were surprised this afternoon, Monday, December 2, to see the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Sajid Javid standing on their doorstep campaigning with Redditch Parliamentary prospective candidate Rachel Maclean.
The Chancellor is a near neighbour to Redditch having represented Bromsgrove and is standing again in that constituency in the General Election of December 12.
James Richardson from Summerhouse Close said: “It was quite a surprise opening the door to Sajid Javid but it was good to see him doing the rounds.
“It shows that Redditch is probably a seat up for grabs because Sajid is quite a heavyweight to come out campaigning in what many would think is quite a safe seat for the Conservatives.”
