Celebrate diversity this International Day of Persons with Disabilities

Redditch Editorial 3rd Dec, 2021   0

WORCESTERSHIRE Children First are encouraging parents to sign up to the Worcestershire register for children with disabilities and special educational needs this International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

By registering, families can be kept up to date on services and support across Worcestershire and provide feedback to help us understand your experiences.

Worcestershire Children First will communicate news and updates with those parent/carers and young people who gave consent to be contacted in the future.

Councillor Marcus Hart, cabinet member for education, said: “International Day of Persons with Disabilities recognises the roles we all play in celebrating diversity and highlights the importance of understanding and learning from the experiences of people with living with a disability.

“Our register for children and young people in Worcestershire helps us as a Local Authority to make better decisions when we are planning and developing services for all families and children.

“I would encourage any parent or carer who has a child with a disability and/or special educational need to sign up as it is a great way for us to keep in touch and it also provides an opportunity to get feedback and continue to improve SEND services across the county.”

Any child or young person in Worcestershire with a special educational need and/or disability can sign up.

You do not have to provide any proof of need or disability and do not need to have a diagnosis and there are no assessments.

It is completely voluntary and you can remove your details at any time.
