Cash grants available for VCS groups helping to fight Covid-19

Redditch Editorial 7th May, 2020   0

CASH sums of up to £5,000 are available to support voluntary organisations in Redditch helping the most vulnerable during the coronavirus pandemic.

The cash comes from Worcestershire Communities Foundation and the National Lottery Community Fund.

The Communities Foundation has a specific COVID-19 fund available up to £5,000.

The foundation supports small organisations across the county and has a range of grants to apply for.

The new coronavirus grant is for organisations which support specific vulnerable groups such as the elderly, people with disabilities and low-income families.

The National Lottery Community Fund awards money to help communities to thrive. Their funding over the six months will be given to groups who can support their communities.

The communities which the fund will seek to support are those which help people at high risk from COVID-19 and communities who will face new challenges as a result of coronavirus outbreak.

Groups can apply for a funding pot of under £10,000, or over £10,000, depending on what they want to do.

These funding pots could essential be to the survival of voluntary and charitable organisations.

Roger Britton from Worcestershire Community Foundation said: “The Worcestershire Community Foundation has always been there to support small organisations in Worcestershire and we intend to be there for them now more than ever. You don’t have to be a registered charity, as long as the work you do has charitable aims. Please do get in touch to find our more and apply.”
