REDDITCH Town Hall has re-opened after temporarily being forced to close this morning, Monday, July 27, because of a broken lock.
Staff had run into difficulties trying to open the door to the cash office earlier this morning.
The Town Hall is used by many tenants to settle various bills, including paying their council tax.
However the key mechanism on the heavy duty door to the cash office had broken, meaning staff couldn’t get in.
The decision was taken to close the building to the public while engineers were called to replace it the mechanism.
They worked swiftly and the Town Hall was able to open its doors earlier this afternoon.
