Call to sort out traffic logjam at far end of the Bromsgrove Highway

NEW Worcestershire Labour Leader Coun Robin Lunn will be campaigning to bring improvements to the Oakalls Island at the end of the Bromsgrove Highway on the A38.

“I go there every day and it can be absolutely awful for drivers,” said Councillor Lunn (Lab, Redditch North).

“It’s all very well putting 2,000 or so new houses at Webheath and Foxlydiate in Redditch and improving the infrastructure there, but where is that traffic going to go?”

Ideas on the agenda include painting yellow boxes on the roundabout to keep traffic flowing.

“I believe there are lots of ways to deal with the situation at Oakalls that needn’t cost huge amounts of money and we will be hoping for cross party support for them,” said Coun Lunn.

The Oakalls Island has hit the headlines before with many motorists labelling it dangerous.
