Burglars remove window but leave empty handed

Redditch Editorial 19th May, 2014 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016   0

BURGLARS removed the window of a Redditch home but did not manage to take anything.

The offenders carried a pallet across Vicarage Crescent and used it to climb up to the window between 12.30am and 6.40am last Thursday (May 15) before completely removing the window.

Det Con Mark Lazenby said: “The offenders used a pallet from the house opposite as a sort of stepladder to get to the attacked window so we would like to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in that area during the early hours.”

He added as well as using pallets, burglars will climb on bins and garden furniture or plant pots to get into properties and ladders should be chained or locked away in a secure shed or garage.

House to house inquiries have been carried out.

Anyone with any information should ring 101 and ask for DC Lazenby quoting incident 77-s-150514 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 5551.
