BIG-HEARTED shoppers contributed so much to a collection organised by Tesco Extra for Redditch Foodbank that it was able to donate 30 cratefuls of essentials to the charity.
Joining the drive, held over four days last week, was the Mayor of Redditch, Councillor Gareth Prosser, who was keen to show his support for the initiative.
Run by the Trussell Trust from a base in Alcester Street in the town centre, Redditch Foodbank has helped hundreds of residents throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.
“We will continue to donate to the foodbank in Redditch regularly and we also have a food bank box in store which is available 6am to 12am Monday to Friday and 10am to 4pm on a Sunday for customers to donate products to,” said Tesco Extra community champion Mollie-Mae Hallahan.
