Bereavement carers are here to help those in Redditch who might be struggling

VOLUNTEERS who specialise in bereavement care are reaching out to people in Redditch affected by grief and loss.

Trained staff from Cruse Bereavement Care Worcestershire are encouraging those dealing with what can be a distressing and confusing time, to contact them for support.

A spokesperson for Cruse said: “For most of us, bereavement will be the most distressing and disorientating experience we will ever face.

“We all experience grief differently, there is no ‘normal’ or ‘right’ way to grieve.

“How you respond to a death is very individual and personal; death can seem cruel and unfair and coping with it is extremely difficult.

“Individuals approach Cruse because someone they know has died. They may have lost a husband, wife, partner, child, a brother or sister, another relative or close friend and want someone who will listen and help them cope with their pain and grief. We can help.”

The charity is also seeking new volunteers, who are caring, empathetic people with an ability to listen and communicate well.

There are 18 spaces available on the next Cruse training course which is due to start in February 2018.
