THE BBC are coming to Forge Mill Needle Museum on Wednesday, April 6 to film an episode of a brand new series: The Travelling Auctioneers.

The daytime TV show will be hosted by restoration maestro Will Kirk and auctioneering expert Christina Travanion.

Across 15 episodes, the talented pair take their auction house and workshop on the road across the UK, unearthing hidden gems and turning unwanted items into winning lots for selling.

Sifting through one family home at a time, Will and Christina will find the items that will go best at a bespoke auction.

Christina will call on her auctioneer expertise, whilst Will uses his skills to bring new life to neglected treasures – ready for a thrilling on-site auction.

And on Wednesday, they’re filming an episode at Redditch’s very own historic monument to its industrial past, Forge Mill Needle Museum.

Its curator Jo-Ann Gloger said: “What a fantastic start to our season .. the BBC coming to film at Forge Mill.

“It’s a great opportunity to show off our beautiful and historic site to the rest of the country.”

The museum tells the story of Redditch’s needle making past, holds great exhibitions, is the gateway to the ruins of Bordesley Abbey and boasts a gift shop, cafe and lovely grounds.

It’s open Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 3pm.
