Batchley Support Group launches appeal for more volunteers

Redditch Editorial 25th Mar, 2021 Updated: 29th Mar, 2021   0

BATCHLEY Support Group is appealing for volunteers to help develop its work in Redditch.

The big hearted charity is also looking for community minded people to volunteer to join its group of trustees at its Salters Lane base in Batchley.

Mark Barron from BSG said: “Over the last 12 months we have seen a steady growth in referrals for support from various agencies and individuals across Worcestershire.

“We are looking to increase our volunteering opportunities and are looking for people who can spare a few hours per week to support our vital work.

“Our Community Pantry supports those on low or no income with food five days a week and last year we distributed more than 40 tonnes of food to needy families and individuals.”

The current volunteer vacancies include trustees, a van driver and a fundraiser events coordinator.

Mark added: “The charity is constantly growing in its work, so we need enthusiastic people to join our friendly team and would urge anyone with an interest in volunteering for our organisation to get in touch.

“We offer all volunteers training and support to enable them to carry out their work.”
