ASTWOOD Bank Club will be celebrating its 100th anniversary on Valentines Day by holding four days of festivities.
The club first opened on Valentines day in 1922 and they are marking it by having four days of events starting on the 11th of February and concluding on Valentines day.
The club will be holding a music event of a themed party that connects with the club extensive history.
Mike Brown, Club Secretary said: “All the Committee are immensely proud that the Club is still going strong even after the last two years.
“I think the key to the club making it to 100 years old is that all the Committee members have cared.
“Giving their free time, having ambition, being progressive and able to adapt when needed.”
As part of the celebrations, the club is are offering 15 months membership for the price of 12 months.
The cost to join for a Single membership is £20 and joint membership £30, with the yearly membership renewal is £10 a year thereafter.
In recent years the club has undergone refurbishment in all its trading areas.
This in turn has attracted many new members with the membership now sitting at over 500.
The Club is very events focused with ClubFest and the Flower Show being the most successful.
It also donates over £4000 a year to charity with Astwood Bank Welfare, Astwood Bank Community Group, British Legion, West Midlands Air Ambulance, Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Macmillan the benefactors.
The celebrations will take place at the club at number five Dark Lane, Astwood Bank B96 6AS.
