BOROUGH organisations were among those visited by a school pupil who had taken on the Bishop of Worcester’s role for the day.
Student Orianna Colthurst went to the YMCA and Where Next as part of Children’s Takeover Day last Friday (November 21).
Bishop John is closely involved with both charities and wanted to show the 12-year-old student the work they do for the Redditch community.
The pair then had lunch with the Redditch Town Centre Chaplaincy team, as well as retailers from the Kingfisher Shopping Centre.
Bishop John said there was a long tradition of boys becoming bishops for the day and he welcomed the first girl bishop.
He added the day was enjoyable and informative for both him and Miss Colthurst.
