All aboard for special 50th anniversary exhibition for model railway club

Redditch Editorial 16th Mar, 2018   0

IT’S all aboard at Forge Mill Needle Museum where Redditch Model Railway Club is celebrating its 50th anniversary.

From now until April 22 the exhibition will be on show at the museum, showcasing the group’s diverse skill and talent in recreating – in painstaking detail – railway scenes from the golden era of steam to the present day.

The exhibition features the Buckshee layout, based on a harbour town in Scotland, which will be operational on certain days throughout the exhibition. There will also be an additional layout over Easter to showcase even more of the group’s work.

During the Easter holidays the museum will be expanding on the train theme, with a fun trail around the site looking for different stations as well as a craft activity, which will all be included in the museum entry price.

This month also sees the launch of a fantastic new offer at the museum, which means visitors will receive a card for three free return visits for this year with every visit they pay for.

This will replace the existing scheme which gives free access on a Wednesday to Redditch residents.
