‘Alice in Wonderland’ is coming to Aunty Jen’s Theatre Academy

Redditch Editorial 16th Aug, 2021   0

AUNTY Jen’s Theatre Academy is bringing a production of Alice in Wonderland to locals this month.

After the success of ‘Romeo and Juliet’ the theatre thought it would be fun to entertain local families with this classic tale and use Aunty Jen’s unique style to bring plenty of songs, silliness and zany characterisation to the production.

Jennifer Rigby Artistic Director said: “We have been overwhelmed by the support from local businesses.

“Studley Sports and Social Club have welcomed us back, allowing us to rehearse, perform and hold the Academy in their grounds.

“The Shakespeare Inn are providing sponsorship so that all of the Graduates of the Academy will receive a t-shirt.

“We were delighted to be the winners of the recent ASDA Green Token Awards and will receive £500 to help with the Academy and Studley COOP have donated £150 so that we can provide free drinks and snacks and art supplies, again for the Academy.”

Two new members have joined the acting team, Birmingham based ‘funny man’ Jim Kelly and a local actor Billy Vale, who is currently studying at Arts Ed Drama School in London.

Performances are 21st, 22nd, 28th, 29th and 30th August at Studley Sports and Social Club.
