Alcester man wins Midlands Air Ambulance Charity Land Rover

AN ALCESTER man has won the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity’s biggest ever raffle prize – a Land Rover Defender.

Brian Hodgetts was chosen at random as the winner of the car which was originally donated to Midlands Air Ambulance Charity by Jaguar Land Rover ten years ago.

Brian is a long-term supporter of the charity and a dedicated fan of Land Rovers.

The car has served the charity well over the past decade as it has been used to collect donations and transport vital blood products to locations across the charity’s six-county operating patch.

The cash raised through the raffle will fund 27 lifesaving missions carried out by the charity’s advanced clinical team, 13 by air ambulance and 14 by critical care car.

Emma Wood, head of fundraising and engagement for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, said: “We are so grateful to everyone who took part in our amazing raffle.

“Every penny raised will ensure we can continue saving lives across the region.

“We were delighted that Brian and his family were able to come along to our Cosford airbase to see the work that the charity does, meet the critical care teams and collect his prize.”
