Abbey Stadium makes Leap Year fitness proposal to the people of Redditch

Redditch Editorial 24th Feb, 2020   0

THE Abbey Stadium is making a Leap Year proposal to the people of Redditch – ‘come join us on February 29 for a day of fitness and fun’.

It’s offering residents the opportunity to discover more than 20 different fitness workouts, from high intensity body combat to gentle pilates via indoor cycling and ‘Boogie Bounce’ and all to a fantastic assortment of great music all packaged up as Fitfest 2020.

“We thought that, with this being a leap year when traditionally a woman can propose to a man we thought we would make a proposal not just to our members but to all the people of Redditch to discover all about getting fitter by coming down to the Abbey Stadium,” said top instructor Sam Bayles.

“Getting that little bit fitter is not only good for your body but it also makes you feel better as well and is great for your mental health.”

Visitors will be in safe hands too – as an array of top instructors from across the country will be there to help people get into the swing of things.

These include the founder of Boogie Bounce, Jenny Belcher, and Tony Dureh, the founder of Fight Klub.

The day will cost £20 for residents and £15 for members.

“I’ve been to these events elsewhere in the country and they normally cost around £40,” said Sam.

“We’ve kept our prices as low as we can to open up this event to as many people as possible.

“A 45-minute session of Fight Klub alone can cost £10 normally – and they are not always led by the founder.

“So if you have no plans to propose to your partner, come on down – it is cheaper than a diamond ring!”

The day runs from 8am to 5pm and the Abbey has showers available and lockers to put your kit.

The cafe will be open and visitors will also be able get nutritional advice from staff.

Places must be booked by calling 01527 60206 or online at http://rubiconleisure.co.uk/news/ and people are advised to wear comfortable clothing and footwear.
