THERE will be plenty of fun for all the family at Avoncroft Museum this summer with games, bread, models and even a Punch and Judy show.
This Saturday and Sunday, July 31 and August 1, the venue will host Lammas – a traditional celebration of bread with demonstrations of milling and bread-making.
Visitors will be able to see where bread comes from and plenty on the shelves.
Next weekend – August 7 and 8 – historic re-enactors will be at Avoncroft from the 17th Century Civilians of Sir Nicholas Devereux’s Regiment.
Soldiers, occupying the Town House, will bring history to life and show how people lived during the English Civil War.
On August 14 and 15, the Worcestershire Home Guard from the 1940s will guard the Anderson Shelters, explaining their role from the Second World War.
And, in the final event – over the August bank holiday weekend, there will be Punch and Judy shows, along with historic and modern games and models, such as steam engines and other vehicles.
Avoncroft, which illustrates Midlands’ life from the 1500s to the present day, is open weekends, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays during school holidays.
