BEATLEMANIA is set to take over Redditch later this month with a talk from Ringo Starr’s drum curator and friend, Gary Astridge.

Gary has spent decades researching, organising and restoring The Beatles’ existing drum kits for their iconic value and historical significance.

As a member of Ringo’s inner circle, Gary can offer residents an insight into the life of the band like few others can.

He has amassed a personal collection of vintage drum kits which were all used by Ringo during his musical career.

This includes Ringo’s first Ludwig drum kit which at one point was sold for an astonishing £2.1 million.

Gary also has an intimate understanding of the drumming techniques used by Ringo and will be sharing those with members of the audience.

A well thought out presentation will provide first-hand details, never-before-seen photographs and personal stories which are sure to entertain fans of the iconic band.

There will also be exclusive one-of-a-kind posters which are signed by Ringo Starr for sale.

The evening will finish off with a Q&A between Gary and the audience which gives long-time fans a chance to find out the answers they have always wanted to know.

As part of the Gary Astridge and Ringo evening there will also be a guided tour from the Town Hall to the new John Bonham memorial in the centre of Redditch.

The event is on Thursday, August 30 and will begin at 6.30pm with a chat from Ros Sidaway, a member of the John Bonham Memorial group.

The talk will begin an hour later at 7.30pm at Redditch Town Hall.

Tickets cost £10 for entry and can be purchased off the Palace Theatre website.
