Review: The Belfry Hotel in Sutton Coldfield is a sheer delight

Redditch Editorial 16th Oct, 2020 Updated: 26th Oct, 2020   0

THE Belfry Hotel & Resort has to be one of the most spectacular hotels in the country.

When I arrived I was astonished by the sheer size of its beautiful golf courses which which appear to stretch for miles in every direction.

Although I didn’t get to play, the award-winning hotel is clearly a special place to pick up a club and have a few rounds with friends and family or your work buddies.

Warm, knowledgeable and friendly staff made me feel extremely welcome as I walked through the doors of this stunning Sutton Coldfield hotel.

They meticulously explained what the hotel and Spa had to offer me as I was shown to a 2x double-bed room.

The room, complete with an aesthetically-pleasing balcony overlooking a bumper golf course, was charming, contemporary and smart.

I soon realised that the Belfry would be perfect for any occasion. Personal? Oh yes. Business trips? Unquestionably.

Which happens to be ideal as the Lichfield Road hotel has recently launched several new packages for guests to enjoy.

One in particular, the Family Bed & Breakfast package, is a steal at £109 per night for two adults and two children.

It also includes an overnight stay with breakfast and a game of Ryder Legends mini golf or disc golf.

After getting settled in my room, I ventured over to the Spa for my Deep Cleansing Back Treatment.

The masseuse made me feel comfortable and at ease right away. I had been looking forward to the massage because my muscles were feeling tight and sore. That I knew. But what I didn’t know, but would soon realise, is how revitalized I would feel afterwards.

It was undoubtedly the best massage I’ve ever had –  tranquil, sensuous, professional.  I finished off the relaxing experience by heading down to the stunning pool area to read a book and dip my toes in  its warm water.

Later that night I visited the on-site Ryder Grill restaurant, situated near the hotel’s main reception.

To start, I had the Tomato and Goats Cheese Tart which was out of this world.

The Pork Belly for main was flavourful and piquant and the Vanilla Cheescake for dessert was sweet and scrumptious.

I left the hotel the following morning after having one of the most comfortable night sleeps this year – something I know that we could all do with right now.

If you’re looking to get away from the chaos of everyday life, need time to unwind or are simply out to have fun – the Belfry Hotel is the right choice for you.
