A SINGING workshop has been organised by the Alcester Singers – and everybody’s invited to go along and burst into song.
Called Ready, Steady, Sing! it’s on Saturday, September 7 from 2pm and will give people the chance to find out what it’s like to sing at a public performance – and absolutely no singing experience is necessary.
Participants will be allocated to one of three voice sections: Soprano, alto, and tenor/bass.
With skilled teachers they’ll learn a selection of traditional, stage musical, and well-known classical pieces.
The workshop will then end with the three voice sections coming together in a full rehearsal of the pieces.
At 6.30pm the workshop students will unite to perform the pieces in concert in St Nicholas Church in Alcester in a free concert.
The event will be under the overall direction of Dr Helen Smith, musical director/conductor of The Alcester Singers and members will be involved in the singing.
The fee for the workshop is just £5 and all materials will be included.
