Pop-up gallery making a welcome return to the Kingfisher Centre

Redditch Editorial 22nd Apr, 2018   0

ARTS in Redditch (AIR) are to hold a Spring Pop-Up exhibition showcasing the work of local artists.

It’s gallery will be open from April 26 to May 6 in a vacant retail unit in Walford Walk in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre, adjacent to ‘Trespass’.

The gallery will exhibit the huge variety of artistic talent at work in the Redditch area, and encourage others to get involved.

Work will include painting, drawing, ceramics, needlecraft, jewellery and photography, and all the work will be available to purchase for collection at the end of the event. 55 local artists will be involved in this latest event, many of them for the first time.

The gallery will be open from 9am to 4pm weekdays and Sundays, and 9am to 5pm on Saturdays, and at various times artists will be demonstrating their work.

Commenting on this latest event, Malcolm Hall, chairman of Arts in Redditch, told the Standard: “This is the fourth year in which we have run these twice-yearly Pop-Up Galleries in the Kingfisher Centre and these events have helped to demonstrate just how much interest there is in arts and culture in Redditch.

“More than 25,000 people have visited these events since we started in 2014, and nearly 150 local artists have been involved at different times.

“Once again, we have had fantastic support from Ken Williams and his team from the Kingfisher Shopping Centre, without whom these events could not happen.”
