Correspondent 9th Jul, 2018

A SPECIAL song and dance programme is the theme of this month’s bandstand event this Saturday, July 14.

Featuring performances by local choirs and dancers there will also be plenty of stalls and attractions at this free event in the town centre on Church Green.

The afternoon will feature song from the Primrose Choir, Redditch Choral Society, Redditch Gospel Choir, Artrix Songstars show choir, and the Arrow Vale Singers Community Choir with dance from the Redditch Dance School, Music in Motion and the Nancy Butterfly Morris Dancers.

All will be performing at the Bandstand from 12noon to 4pm.

Councillor Roger Bennett, Redditch Borough Council’s portfolio holder for Leisure and Cultural Services, said: “The first bandstand event of the year was great and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone who attended.

“There is an excellent line-up of performers this month who have worked very hard in preparation and are guaranteed to entertain.

“I am pleased we will be showcasing local talent – because let’s face it, there’s a lot!”

At the suggestion of the publi the September event will have a carnival theme and organisers are appealing for community groups to take part in a walking parade.
