STAR Wars super-fans from as far as Sweden and the Netherlands traveled to Redditch on Saturday to get a glimpse of a galaxy far, far away.

Enthusiasts were delighted with the rare and valuable Star Wars memorabilia on show at the Kingfisher Shopping Centre on Saturday, when Echo Base Live returned to Redditch.

The special event is one of the biggest Star Wars Collectors Fair in Europe, offering a range of vintage and modern collectible items from art and books to toys.

Fans old and new came to see items from the original 1977 film on sale at the fair and the chance to catch a glimpse of Paul Blake who played Greedo in the original films walking among them, as well as the returning Laurie Goode and Chris Bunn.

This year, the fresh faces of Kenneth Colley and Jon Simpkin also appeared; actors from the original films who played characters Admiral Piett and Klaatu respectively.

Domonique Lippett, marketing manager at Kingfisher, said: “We were so pleased to see the return of Echo Base Live.

“It’s great to see Star Wars fans of all ages enjoying this flagship event.”
