AN underwater adventure is coming to Redditch Palace Theatre this Saturday, August 17, with a production of the classic tale of The Little Mermaid, writes Eve Watson.
Disney’s The Little Mermaid Junior has been adapted from Disney’s Broadway production, motion picture and one of Hans Christian Andersen’s most beloved stories.
The Little Mermaid Junior tells the story of a young mermaid, Ariel, who longs to leave her ocean home – and her fins –to live in the world above water.
The Palace Youth Theatre cast began rehearsal just two weeks ago and are excited to be taking to the stage.
Cast member Jude Wilding, playing King Triton, said: “It’s been a great experience over the past two weeks and there’s a real sense of community amongst the cast and it’s brilliant being able to communicate with everyone.
“Theatre is magic, and I think it will be wonderful for people to witness our two weeks of solid work on stage in front of an audience.”
There are two performances on Saturday at 2.30pm and 7.30pm and is suitable for all ages.
Standard tickets are £12.00, concessions are £10 and a family ticket is £36.
