DIRE Straits tribute band Dire Streets will be coming to Redditch on September 7 for an evening of faithful renditions and classic songs from the Sultans of Swing.
The six piece band will be performing at the Palace Theatre in a two hour theatre show with extended live versions from legendary Dire Straits concerts.
The ‘Streets have been together for eight years and joined forces after realising there was a gap in the market for a Dire Straits tribute act.
Mark Dryden, keyboard player in the band, said: “Not to blow our own trumpet but we’re a fantastic group of musicians.
“The lead singer is the master of all Mark Knopfler’s distinctive guitar skills and speed.
“It’s a technique not many have mastered.
“The saxophone player Steve Wiltshire is also a genius, they’re all proper musicians.”

Tickets for the gig at the Palace are £19 and it’s curtain up at 7.30pm.
