LOVERS of classical music are in for a real treat when Czech violin superstar, Pavel Šporcl plays the music of his countryman Antonin Dvorak at the opening concert of the English Symphony Orchestra 2019 season.

Šporcl will play Dvorak’s breathtaking Violin Concerto in a programme that also includes the Czech composer’s melodious 8th Symphony and a selection of his Slavonic Dances.

It’s a brilliant opportunity to enjoy some of the greatest music ever produced in the hands of one of today’s finest performers.

Not only that but for those who only know Dvorak through his ‘New World Symphony’ it’s a chance to explore more of his finest work.

It all adds up to a mouthwatering menu of top quality music particularly as it comes off the back of Šporcl’s internationally acclaimed recording of the Violin Concerto with Vladimir Ashkenazy and the Czech Philharmonic.

This concert, at Malvern Theatres on Saturday, January 26 at 7.45pm, will be under the baton of the ESO’s artistic director, Kenneth Woods and tickets cost from £17 online at Malvern Theatres or via eso.co.uk or call 01684 892277.

The performance will be preceded by a pre-concert talk at 6.45pm, providing an ideal opportunity for people to learn more about the music.
