At the start of the last century and at the time the real ‘Peaky Blinders’ Brummie gangsters were about – the Blues were originally known as ‘Small Heath Alliance’.

Fans who attended yesterday’s match with Huddersfield Town were able to get their hands on a specially curated Small Heath Alliance matchday programme, ticket office staff and the reception team wore the famous flat caps, and fans were given ‘Peaky Blinders x Small Heath Alliance’ scarves.

Also, for one game only, the Birmingham City players also left the tunnel to the sound of the series’ iconic ‘Red Right Hand’ theme tune.

Eagle-eyed supporters were also able to spot Peaky Blinders themed hoardings surrounding the pitch.

And the club’s traditional badge was replaced with the city’s coat of arms on the scoreboard.

Peaky Blinders is created by Caryn Mandabach Productions and co-produced with Tiger Aspect.

As well as tonight’s airing, all the episodes of the previous ones will also be available on the BBC iPlayer.
