YOU know Christmas is on its way when the magic of The Nutcracker comes to the Birmingham Hippodrome.

It tells the story of Clara as she is swept into an enchanting winter wonderland of dancing snowflakes and a Sugar Plum Fairy in the classic Birmingham Royal Ballet production.

Her magical Christmas tree and her handsome prince with his army of toy soldiers are an unforgettable delight.

In this most festive ballet, gigantic sets, lavish costumes, 60 dancers and a full orchestra combine to make the perfect Christmas treat for the entire family.

This world-acclaimed production with its classic story, glorious dancing and instantly recognisable music, played by the Royal Ballet Sinfonia, has captured the hearts and imaginations of generations of theatregoers, becoming an annual tradition.

Not only that but this world-famous production by Sir Peter Wright, with exquisite designs by John Macfarlane, is acclaimed as one of the best in the world.

The Nutcracker was Sir Peter’s gift to the city of Birmingham in the year he led the Company from London to its new home at Birmingham Hippodrome.

It’s on stage at the Hippodrome from Friday, November 24 to Wednesday, December 13.

Based at Birmingham Hippodrome since 1990, Birmingham Royal Ballet is the United Kingdom’s leading classical ballet touring company and its director is the award-winning David Bintley, CBE.

The Royal Ballet Sinfonia is Britain’s busiest ballet orchestra, playing for Birmingham Royal Ballet’s wide-ranging programme in the UK and abroad.

Tickets for The Nutcracker cost from £19 from the Birmingham Hippodrome website or on 0844 338 5000.
