  • Leonie's Christian art on display

    Lianne Cooper

    12 May 2008

A CHRISTIAN artist is keeping the faith with a display of her work at a town centre venue.
The Creation Series by artist Leonie Marklew-Barrett, from Bromsgrove, is now being showcased at the Ecumenical Centre after members of the Emmanuel Church took a liking to her work earlier this year.
Noel Sharpe, minister of Emmanuel Church, said: "Celebrating the seasons of the Christian year, the paintings aim to creatively spark viewers' imaginations.
"Much of Leonie's work is based around biblical passages and the Christian faith, and as well as exhibiting her work and sharing with the church service, she has both displayed and donated her work to places within the community."
Leonie studied art and design at Alcester Grammar School before going onto to do a degree in theatre and performance design in Liverpool.
She has since designed items for a number of theatre productions and films, and she now works as an artist in Christian ministry.
