Travelling from the UK

The UK, for a country its size, arguably has more than its fair share of airports. This is great for any traveller or frequent flyer and whether you're flying for business or a holiday, you're not without a large range of options.

The main benefit of this is the price. With so many options to choose from, you can get some great deals, especially from firms such as Flybe who offer a range of cheap flights both within the country and to overseas destinations. Secondly, the simple range of choice means you can be more flexible in your choice of departure location and other factors.

Scotland

If you live up North then you may already be aware of some of the airports. Whilst the likes of Glasgow and Dundee have a lot to offer, one of the central hubs of the north has to be Edinburgh airport. With its proximity to the capital, Edinburgh has various flights, connecting to a wide range of destinations.

England

Some of the UK's busiest and arguably most well known airports are in England, typically around London. The likes of Heathrow are prime examples, offering plenty of flights to various destinations around the world. However, it’s not the easiest place to get to if you don't live in the south. Fortunately, you're not without alternatives.

Cheap and competitive flights can easily be found in the likes of Birmingham airport and further airports up north. These all offer affordable flights so you're free to be more flexible with your choice. Travelling to the airport, for instance, is still an important factor.

Wales

Although most well known for its countryside, Wales is not without its share of cities. The main hub for all of this is typically Cardiff airport which operates a number of flight routes including connections to other parts of Wales.

Northern Ireland

Whilst it’s easy to talk about England, Scotland and Wales when considering UK airports we should never forget that there are a few locations available in Northern Ireland too. If you're looking to travel from the Emerald Isle then Belfast Airport is an obvious choice. Similar to Edinburgh, this major city boasts a large and open airport with various flights to suit all travel needs – both domestic and international.

Benefits of choice

More than the geographical factor, the bigger choice also means you can search and compare for the best deals. Flights vary from airport to airport, even within the same airline, so it’s always useful to see what other options are open to you. With the various offers and cheap flights available you can compare different destinations to find the best solution for your wallet.

If you're a frequent flyer, or just want to save money wherever possible this may prove an invaluable tool when planning your next trip.
