An exciting summer of cinema begins

Summer is the season of the blockbuster at cinemas. It’s when the biggest and most eagerly awaited films hit the silver screen.

Dark Knight Rises

The third film in the epic Batman trilogy, Dark Knight Rises is one of the most eagerly and hungrily anticipated films out this summer, and this year as a whole.

The film sees the conclusion to Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy, starring Christian Bale as the titular superhero. Playing alongside Tom Hardy as Bane, and Anne Hathaway as Catwoman, the film is set to potentially be the best Batman film yet.

With additional performances by Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and Gary Oldman, the film has a lot of talent and effort put into delivering the best Batman story to date. The Dark Knight Rises hits cinemas on the July 20.

Ice Age Continental Drift

A perfect film for people of all ages, Ice Age Continental Drift is the fourth film in the Ice Age series. Following the same mixed herd of animals, Ice Age Continental Drift promises to be yet another hilarious and engaging adventure.

Whilst this film is suitable for children and younger audiences, there is no reason adults and parents can't get in on the action too. The comedy speaks to all ages, and is a light hearted affair that everyone can get behind.

Furthermore, the film is available in 3D, making full use of the technology to make the CGI more realistic, almost coming to life out of the screen. Ice Age Continental Drift is released July 13.

The Amazing Spider-man

A reboot of the franchise, The Amazing Spiderman returns to uncover the roots of world famous Peter Parker, offering a more interesting and fascinating story of his rise to become world famous Spiderman.

This new film features Andrew Garfield in the new role, and is looking to be the best Spiderman film to date. As an origin story, it doesn't matter how familiar you are with the character, as the film presents a great opportunity to get aboard and find out just what makes Spiderman so popular.

This film is also available in 3D. The technology makes for exciting viewing, watching Spiderman swing into life through the screen makes for an engaging and unique visual experience. The Amazing Spider-man is released in June 28.
