  • Mars Bonfire in Wishing Well gig

    Sarah Hickinbotham

    09 May 2008

ONE OF Herefordshire's best musical exports is set to take to the stage in Bromsgrove this month.
Four-piece Mars Bonfire will be blasting out rock and blues at The Wishing Well on Friday, May 23.
Having grown up together sharing a love for music legends such as Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix and Buddy Rich, the group have rehearsed and gigged together for the last six years.
After releasing their first EP last October, Mars Bonfire have performed at rock clubs across the UK including Birmingham, Nottingham, Bristol, Leicester and London.
Martin Martyn leads the line-up with his powerful Plant-esque vocals, complemented nicely by Remi Harris' Page-esque guitar riffs.
Brothers Karl Dixon and Shane Dixon on bass and drums respectively head-up the rhythm section with booming beats and raging bass riffs.
Mars Bonfire have recently been back into the studio recording ten tracks for an album with world-renowned producer, Gavin Monaghan who has worked with the likes of the Editors and Kings of Leon.
The gig starts at 9pm and admission is free but there will be a collection for the band.
