STAFF at a town supermarket were ringing up the cash for charity.

Workers at Iceland, based on Trafford Retail Park, spent last week raising funds for the Royal British Legion.

Events included selling raffle tickets, a cake sale, face painting, a name the teddy competition and a guess how many sweets in the jar contest.

Staff were also challenged to make their own creations out of loom bands which were then sold and last Thursday to Saturday (August 7 to 9) they dressed up in costumes ranging from Power Rangers to Wilma Flinstone.

Their efforts raised £1,350 for the organisation, which is Iceland's chosen charity of the year.
