A REDDITCH school has handed over Kindles to four of its pupils who have excelled at their reading.

One of the electronic book readers was presented to a pupil in each year at Birchensale Middle School in recognition of their reading achievements. It follows the second successful year of the Accelerated Reader programme.

Teacher Nicola Britt said: “The prizes have been awarded to a pupil from each year group who has made the most progress this year.

“Reading has an extremely high profile in our school and our vibrant library is a hub for activity throughout the week.

“We wanted to present our children with this exceptional award for their dedication and enthusiasm to literature.”
