Redditch gets its own world cup

THE FLAIR and excitement of Rio will be played out on the streets of Redditch in the town’s very own world cup.

The Estate World Cup is being run by P&E Sports and will see teams from ten of the borough’s districts compete for the title.

Training sessions are taking place over the next few weeks from which squads will be selected and put forward for the final showdown towards the end of July.

The scheme has been partly funded by a £300 donation from the divisional fund of Arrow Valley East councillor Peter Bridle which has been used to pay for footballs, slalom poles and other equipment.
