Flower festival is a hit

FLOWERS and residents filled a Cookhill church as part of its annual festival.

Cookhill Baptist Church, on Chapel Lane, opened its doors to visitors to explore many of the arrangements on display.

This year’s 15th Flower Festival followed the theme of colours of the rainbow, depicting God’s promises.

Refreshments were on offer throughout the weekend (June 27 to 29), while a service also took place in the garden.

Organiser Barbara Powell said: “It went really well, each day more and more people came.

“We were blessed with the weather and lots of people complimented the displays.”
