A COUPLE had a lucky escape after a crash on the M42 which saw their car spin, leave the carriageway and overturn.

The car was upside down in a field after the incident, which happened in heavy rain about 5.10pm yesterday afternoon (Saturday) between Junction 2 and Junction 3.

West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed an ambulance crew and a senior paramedic officer attended the scene and the pair were taken to Hopwood Services to help get the traffic moving again.

They were checked at the scene, but did not need hospital treatment.

A WMAS spokesperson said: "There is absolutely no doubt that they were very lucky indeed."
