A GROUP of golfers putt their best club forward in a two day challenge for charity.

Gary Roberts and Craig Stokes teed off last Thursday (June 19) as part of the longest golf day challenge for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The duo played four rounds of golf in one day at the Abbey Hotel and Golf Club starting at 4.45am and finishing just after 9pm.

They then took on the same challenge the next day at Henley Golf and Country Club - putting 114 holes in total and covering over 44 miles.

Each day they were joined by two guests including Alex Green, Andrew Boardman, Ben Graburn and Gareth Browning.

The group completed the one day event last year where they raised over £1,300 but decided to push themselves even further this year.

More than 800 teams across the country took part in the event in 2013, raising close to £800,000 for people affected by cancer.
