A PENSIONER was pushed into a pond while fishing in Batchley.

The elderly man was fishing at Batchley Pond about 7pm on Monday (June 23) when one of four youths went up behind him and pushed him in.

The group - who are all believed to be white - ran off and a member of the public called emergency services.

The victim, who was shaking, was checked over my an ambulance crew but did not require medical attention.
