Appeal for witnesses after number plates theft

By James Iles Wednesday 28 May 2014 Updated: 28/05 18:08

THIEVES stole both number plates off a car parked on Fishing Line Road in Redditch on Tuesday.

The personalised plates were pulled from the red Fiat 500 some time between 1pm and 6pm.

The car's owner has appealed for anyone who saw anything to tell the police.

"My car was parked at the top of the road in full view of the busy junction with Birmingham Road," said the man, who works in the town.

"It was broad daylight when they were taken and it would have taken some force to pull them off so I think someone will have seen something.

"They are of no use to anyone else and were a birthday present from my family so it's distressing to see them taken out of spite like this."

The incident has been reported to police. Anyone with information should call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
