GENEROUS shoppers helped raise nearly £1,500 for volunteers who respond to emergency calls.
Members of the Redditch Community First Responders, who are often first on the scene of an incident to provide life-saving care, spent the day in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre with donations mounting to more than £1,347.
Support was also received from Barclays bank’s Tracy Coward, who will be adding to the total through match-funding, Rachel’s Cupcakes who donated a sweetie cake for a competition and Coun Pattie Hill, who donated £500 from her divisional funds.
A spokesman said: “The day also saw the official launch of our new Honda CRV 4x4 response car sponsored by the Redditch Lions. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the group for their continued support which enables us to increase the level of cover that we can offer to West Midlands Ambulance Service.”
