Families needed to help host French visitors

FAMILIES are needed to help host a group of French visitors from a village's twin town.

Inkberrow Twinning Association will welcome more than 40 guests from the town of Bray-sur-Somme in France to the village from June 7 to 10, but more families are needed to help look after the visitors during their stay. The event is also the second celebration of 25 years of twinning between the two places.

They will arrive at 6pm on Saturday, June 7 where there will be a welcome reception before they go home with their host family who will then entertain them during the following day, before a barn dance and hog roast takes place at the village hall on Sunday evening.

They will then be taken on a coach trip during Monday June 9, which host families do not have to attend, before they leave the village the day after but not before residents and guests join together to say au revoir and perform Auld Lang Syne on the village green.

Host families do not have to live in Inkberrow as long as they can transport their guests to the village when required and do not need to speak French, although it is useful. Members of the committee will also be on hand to offer their support.

Anyone interested should contact Pam Drysdale on 01527 892582.
