A MUTUAL love of dancing led to 60 years of marriage for a Diamond couple.
Sheila and Roland Spires first met in the borough on a Saturday night where they both learnt how to ballroom dance.
The pair began courting and decided to get married at Ipsley Church on March 27 1954, as well as buying their first house on Oakenshaw Road.
The duo - who still live in the family home today - honeymooned in Malvern before starting a family which includes two sons, five grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
They celebrated their Diamond anniversary at Studley Road Social Club where family members had organised a private party.
Their eldest grandson will also follow in their footsteps by marrying his fiancé at the same church soon.
Former Royal Air Force member Roland said the secret to a happy marriage was 'mucking in together'.
"You both have to do it and that's it. You have your tough times and you stick at it."
