A FUND-RAISING day has helped boost Studley's fighting fund as it bids to defend its title in this year's Britain in Bloom contest.
More than £300 was raised from a raffle, tombola and cake sale during the event at the village's Co-op store last Thursday (April 17).
The money will go towards Studley's efforts to take gold for a fourth time in a row while the committee also hopes to defend their award for best in the small town category they won last year.
There will also be some special floral displays this year to mark 50 years of Britain in Bloom.
Gill Liebthal, chairman of Studley in Bloom, said: "A big thank you to the manager of the Co-op, all the small businesses who supported us by donating prizes and all those who helped on the day."
