SENTIMENTAL jewellery and cash were stolen from a Redditch home while the family were away on holiday.

Thieves broke into the Studley Road home between 7am on Thursday, April 17, and 11pm the following Thursday (April 24).

They searched the bedroom and stole the jewellery as well as a quantity of cash.

Det Con Tony Flannagan said the householders were upset after returning from holiday to find the house had been burgled.

He added: "The amount of property taken is still being assessed but it is clear that jewellery of sentimental value has been stolen and has caused additional distress."

Police are reminding residents to remain vigilant and to take measures such as registering valuable items.

Anyone with any information should contact Det Con Flannagan on the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident 730-S-240414, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
