A REALITY television star popped into Redditch to join lucky competition winners in a game of bingo.

Joey Essex - who rose to fame on The Only Way is Essex and I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here - dined with 22 members of Shipleys bingo club at their venue in The Quadrant last Saturday (April 12). The fortunate few were chosen through a series of special bingo games.

As well as being treated to a luxury VIP experience, the group got the opportunity to have their picture taken with the man who popularised the word ‘reem’ while he also called a game of bingo.

The 22-year-old also took time out to sign autographs and pose for snaps with some of his younger fans who had waited for him.

The event was aimed at helping to raise the profile of bingo which is enjoying a resurgence in popularity amongst younger people.
