AN EGG-STRA special treat is in store for residents at a Redditch care home thanks to generous shoppers and staff.

More than 50 Easter eggs were donated from the borough’s branch of Sainsbury’s which will be handed over to those living at Bowood Mews in Hewell Road in time for the celebrations on Sunday (April 20).

Store manager Tim Smedley said: “We wanted to get our customers involved in helping us give something back to the community and thought our Easter egg appeal was a great way to do this.”

Bowood Mews manager Vicky Wedgbury added: “We like to get all our residents involved in special occasions and they will enjoy an extra treat thanks to Sainsbury’s staff and customers.”
