AN INKBERROW man and his siblings are celebrating after clocking up more than 270 years of marriage between them.

Tony Perryman and his four brothers and one sister have all marked their golden wedding anniversary. Tony has been married to wife Margaret for 51 years, Len and Rita Perryman have been wed for 56 years, Reg and Sheila Perryman for 55 years and Fred and Amy Perryman for 58 years. Their sister Gaye and husband Roger Bryant were the last to reach the landmark towards the end of last month.

However the family have narrowly missed out on a place in the Guinness Book of World Records for the most siblings to have celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. That is still held by the three sons and four daughters of Mr and Mrs F Stredwick of East Sussex who all marked the occasion between May 1971 and April 1981.

When asked about the secret behind their years of wedded bliss Tony said: “We all come from good genetics, we’ve all been working men and there’s a lot of love in there as well.”
