Golf club has helped make life bearable

REDDITCH Golf Club has been named the top team for fund-raising in its centenary year.

Survey results recently released show the club, which celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2013, gave the most to a single charity out of all the golf teams in the UK last year.

The average golf club gave more than £7,000 to charity but Redditch topped the league by donating £17,798 to Help For Heroes.

Centenary captain Tom Sheldon said: “This is great news for the club and all the members who gave so generously throughout the year.

“What a lovely way to mark 100 years of golf at Redditch Golf Club.”
